Living in the Urban City : Life Necessities

Living in the city presents it own set of challenges, in the last few days I was given to thinking about life's necessities and how different it is for urban life.

So, what are the necessities of life, in the past it was that a person needed Water, Air, Food and Shelter. Work was basically just how to make sure these necessities were provided and maintained. Entertainment then meant a whole different thing, as just a way of spending (or wasting) time between sundown and sleep. Even with the invention of light, there is no nightlife, with it being spent reading or just watching television.

In these modern times, urban life, has taken life's necessities to a whole new concept. While water, air, food and shelter are still life's basic necessities, modern poeple have added many sub categories to each of these and also have added some extra necessities to life. These new categories of necessity for urban life include :

A multitude of Entertainment; from Hobbies to travel to various pleasures
Transport and Locomotion; we urban people have a wide reach and a vast network so we need to get to places near and far, gone are the days of the one street hamlets, ours is a vast city
Communication; where would we be without our mobile phones, PDAs, laptops, internet, wireless access, satellite television and radios
Taxes; the new urban need, we pay many types of taxes as we have passed on the responsibility
of maintaining our shelters and distributed supplies to others

Work now, for the urban person, meant not just providing for these necessities but also to make more to be generate value to the society we are part of and to distribute our knowledge and wealth to the network we establish for ourselves. Work has started to take on a meaning akin to a career, where one considers it one's interests or life work. And with the extension of available time, now we have a night life, be it more work, more life work, more things to do or just more entertainment.

Life is good and better now, but with it comes new challenges of adapting and balancing one's wants and needs and how to meet one's life objectives without getting into trouble. This is life in the urban city.

Budget Photography

Photography are such an interesting stuff to0 do, especially nowadays that digital photography are so easy and no need to spend so much money on buying those traditional film.

No wonder that there is alot of people that are carrying a digital camera on their hand can simply just snap on what ever that they want.

But how to take a good photograph ? what is the requirement.

I have been asking some of those friends that have been taking nice photo. The answer they give me mostly are u must have a good camera. A digital SLR. They keep saying which model with what kind of feature and how many mega pixels and so on... does that mean that if you are not rich u will never take good photographs ???

Maybe i am very poor on searching the net or i don't know which key words to search. i can't find useful technique for budget photography.

I myself would like to share with other about how start photography as a hobby with a cheap investment.

I personaly am using just an old Canon PowerShot A 520 just with 4.0 Mega Pixels. The reason i buy this camera is because of its compatibility and mobility. (Of cos now a day there are alot those very compact digital camera.) This camera is just nice. It is not that big anyway. The good things about it is that it just require 2 AA size battery (any AA size is ok, like those energizer or duracell battery. I personally are using GP 2700 rechargeable battery and for memory it can support any kind of SD or MMC card.( i personally are using the 1 GB SD with the back have a USB adapter. )

The quality of the image with the max file size 2272 x 1704 pixels with a 180 dpi quality.

There is one question that i keep asking the salesman of the digital camera. What is the resolution of the image. The only answer that they give me is, on the camera it say X.X Mega Pixels. From my experience, i don't remember what model the digital camera is ( there are a few) the camera mega pixels are definitely are higher than mine(this 4.o Mega pixels) but the resolution of the photo that the output is just 72 dpi. Some how the different is that 180 dpi provide a better quality of color.

Here is a sample. The top photo that my client provide me that he take this photo with his 8.0 mega pixels digicam. And the bottom one is me taking the same things with my 4.0 megapixels digicam. as i know both of us are using the max file size for taking this photo. but the different is this his file is just 72 dpi and mine is 180 dpi. with a zoom to 500 % we can see the different. So i personally feel that dpi is very important but the salesman don't know about it. so thats a very good way to sell your camera if you have a higher resolution that provide better color quality instead of bigger web photo.

I am using my old Canon Power Shot A520 with 4.0 Mega Pixels.I am looking forward to get myself a Sony a 350 Digital SLR.
